TIMELESS ELEGANCE

THE WORLD'S MOST EXOTIC LEATHERS

LAGARTO wallets are made exclusively from hand-selected, top grade exotic leathers, embodying the prestige and opulence of the gilded age. No two pieces are alike, with each featuring a unique natural pattern. All of LAGARTO's exotic leathers are sourced responsibly, meeting and exceeding governing standards.

THE KING

CROCODILE LEATHER

Crocodile leather is considered to be the king of exotic leathers in the world. The strong, sensual, richly textured leather showcases gorgeous natural rectangular scales, symbolizing confidence, boldness, and sophistication. LAGARTO offers hand-selected top-grade crocodile leather in both Master-Line and Master-Class wallet collections.

RARE, ONE OF A KIND

Crocodile leather has been used in the production of accessories for decades, selected exclusively by those with discernable good taste and an eye for excellence. Crocodile leather is recognizably unique by its natural distribution of the rectangular-shaped scales in its lower belly section —naturally exorbitant at first sight. With Exotic by Design, LAGARTO creates the rarest and most prestigious accessories that mature with age and develop characteristics that last a lifetime.

ORIGIN

Tanneries are of utmost importance when it comes to crocodile leathers because it is where all the processing happens; grading, colour dyeing and finishing. The product's consistency and quality are constantly monitored and maintained right from the beginning before the leather is cut. Many tanneries exist worldwide; however, LAGARTO has narrowed down to the two most renowned in the industry with over ninety years of heritage. Though this limits the output, LAGARTO believes in maintaining the corporate quality standard and authenticity.

GRADING

As crocodile leather is natural, a widely used grading scale determines the quality of the leather.

Grade 1: Flawless, without defects on any quadrant

Grade 2: Defects on one quadrant

Grade 3: Defects on two quadrants

Grade 4: Defects on three or more quadrants

Scars, scratches, and holes define what defects are on the crocodile's belly. As our products are considered small in size, a Grade 1 selection is certain.

SIZES

Crocodile skins come in different size ranges (measured through the width of the belly), commonly depending on the type of product made.

LAGARTO sources 20-24cm to 24-29cm skins. LAGARTO's cardholder wallet is 10.4cm in width. By design, only the smallest size crocodile skins can showcase the beauty in the evenly distributed rectangular scales on either side of the centerline of the belly. In other words, a larger size will lose the subtler appeal as there would be fewer scales.

CITES

The use of crocodile skins for leather making follows strict rules of wildlife conservation acts. Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) came into action in 1975 to protect wildlife and have categorized species under clear Appendices. At LAGARTO, we thereby obey the CITES act to ensure all our sources are under Appendix II, indicating farmed animal use, which is sustainable for international trade and not of endangered species.

SPECTACULAR

OSTRICH LEATHER

Ostrich leather, with its soft touch and characteristic polka-dot texture, has been admired over the years. Its surface becomes more supple with a deeper patina that becomes more brilliant with age — an exotic leather that has won the hearts of both artisans and connoisseurs. LAGARTO offers the glamorous and elegant ostrich leather in the Master-Line wallet collection, a conversation piece in any social gathering.

REFLECTION OF THE UNCOMMON

Ostrich leather has been used in the production of accessories for decades, desired by those who are uncompromising and want something that will complement their lifestyle and excite the emotional experience. Ostrich leather is recognizable by its natural polka-dot-like quill follicles from its crown section — Softest to the touch. With Exotic by Design, LAGARTO creates the rarest and most prestigious accessories that mature with age and develop characteristics that last a lifetime.

NATURAL TOUCH

A leather that cannot be replicated — ostriches naturally have a lot of oil that prevents drying, stiffness and cracks. It is also why they are so durable, water repellent, and delightful to touch. Like crocodile leather, ostrich conveys rarity and exclusivity. The feel of the ostrich leather is sensuous — once experienced, never forgotten. The quill patterns are never uniform from one skin to another, making each finished product one of a kind masterpiece.

GRADING

The grading of an Ostrich skin is based on the diamond-shaped area called the crown. It is the back of the ostrich where the neck meets the body.

Grade 1: None to very minor damage

Grade 2: Minor damage confined to a specific area

Grade 3: Multiple damaged areas with loose quill follicles

Grade 4: Damaged, scratched caused by insect bites.

SIZES

As Ostrich leather comes in sizes up to 2 yards, LAGARTO selects only the optimal in the 1-1. yards for the wallets. About 5-6 square feet is within the crown areas unmissable and sought-after quill follicles, making up one-third of the skin — an extremely prestigious rarity.

LAGARTO's cardholder wallet is 10.4cm in width. By design, only the specific and most sought after crown section is used to highlight and showcases the beautiful polka-dot quill follicles. The larger and closer the quill patterns, the rarer it is.

CITES

The use of ostrich skins for leather making follows strict rules of wildlife conservation acts.

Combining timeless precious materials with the infinite vision of design and sustainable innovation" — Exotic by Design.

THE MYSTIQUE AND PRESTIGE OF DIAMONDS

DIAMOND

The most valuable of all the precious stones in the world. As early as the 1400s, it became fashionable for the affluent and privileged to adorn their accessories with diamonds — les must for the European royals and elites. Ever since then, demand for creative new ways of using diamonds has intensified and multiplied.

LAGARTO's vision is to combine diamonds, precious metals, and exotic leathers to create the Master-Class collection. Each colourless, VVS-graded melee diamond is carefully inspected and selected. Cut, colour, clarity, and carat weight are evaluated, and only the most beautiful and brilliant diamonds are used to complement LAGARTO's Master Class wallets. A specialized pavé technique perfected by our master jeweller to fasten the diamonds onto the Master Class's 18-carat gold and platinum Gemini corners.

PURE AND PRECIOUS

PLATINUM

Platinum is considered to be the noblest of metals, striking for its silvery whiteness and vibrant luminosity. Historically, platinum was a complicated metal for goldsmiths to work with. But since the discovery of the melting point in the 1970s, it allowed platinum to be cast and worked on. To this day, it has become synonymous with indulgence and longevity. Platinum is extraordinarily durable and does not fade, tarnish, or worn down over time.

LAGARTO utilized a 95 percent pureness platinum, four times stronger than gold and polished to a high finish to complement and enhance the flawless diamonds. Platinum is also hypoallergenic, making it ideal for sensitive skin.

STANDING THE TEST OF TIME

GOLD

Since the time of the Pharaoh, long before gold was a form of currency, gold jewellery was much sought after by the rich and powerful due to its lustrous characteristics. To this day, it is still the material of choice in jewelry making due to its unmatched beauty.

LAGARTO's skilled craftsmen use elements of silver and copper that are required to enhance the natural golden hue in the varying tones of 18-carat yellow and rose gold. Brushed or polished, this precious metal's pristine sheen and bold colour complement the world's most exceptional wallets in the Master-Line and Master-Class collections.
